HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cal pressured early in the opening quarter and broke through at the 14:46 mark on a goal from Zara Schmitz to grab a 1-0 lead. UC Davis nearly answered minutes earlier when Linnea Liljenstrand-Mjoen put a shot just wide.
- The Aggies earned a penalty corner early in the second quarter, but Beth Munro-Morris's attempt was blocked. Collingwood came up with a big save minutes later to keep it a one-goal game heading into halftime.
- The Bears extended their lead in the third quarter when a penalty corner rebound found Olivia Sharratt, who converted for a 2-0 advantage.
- UC Davis's defense settled in, holding Cal scoreless for the remainder of the period despite sustained pressure.
- In the fourth quarter, Cal made it 3-0 before Redman capitalized in the 55th minute, finishing a feed from Kim to bring UC Davis within two.
- The Bears quickly answered, with Schmitz adding her second of the day in the 57th minute to put the match out of reach, 4-1.
