Lakelee Perkins has been named Big West Freshman of the Week after scoring the first goal of her collegiate career in the Aggies' 2-0 Causeway Cup win at Sacramento State.
Perkins broke the scoreless match in the 51st minute with a strike into the upper netting that stood as the game-winner. She finished with two shots in 61 minutes of action, helping UC Davis close non-conference play at 2-4-3 while extending its unbeaten streak against the Hornets to seven matches, including three straight victories.
The Aggies open Big West play with a pair of home matches at Aggie Soccer Field, beginning with UC Santa Barbara on Thursday, Sept. 25, followed by Cal Poly on Sunday, Sept. 28.
