Women’s Golf Tees Off 2025-26 At The Leadership & Golf Invite

DAVIS, Calif. Fresh off its historic spring season which finished at the NCAA Lubbock Regionals, the first trip to regionals for the Aggies since 2015, UC Davis women's golf sits at the tee box for the 2025-26 season getting things started at the Leadership & Golf Invitational hosted by Washington and Seattle U set to run from Sept. 15-16.

WELL EARNED HEAD JOB: After leading UC Davis women's golf to the NCAA Regionals and taking them within one stroke of qualifying for the NCAA Championships Amelia Hicks-Beltran was promoted to head coach of the Aggies. During the 2024-25 season Hicks-Beltran held the title of interim head coach after taking over the roll following the departure of Cal Aggie Hall of Famer Demi Runas after the 2023-24 season.
 
Under Hicks-Beltran UC Davis set three team records and had two individuals set program records. The Aggies saw Vani Karimanal have a top five finish at the Big West Championships and they finished among the top six at the NCAA Regionals held in Lubbock, Texas.
 
SEASON NOTES
  • Powered by a career-low opening round UC Davis women's golf senior Lauren Calderon was crowned the 2025 California Women's Champion after finishing three rounds with a score of -3 (210). Calderon's championship performance came at the Ojai Valley Inn over 54 holes and three days from August 20-22.
NEW AGGIES
UC Davis and head coach Hicks-Beltran welcomed three Aggies into the fold entering the 2025-26 season, with two true freshmen and one junior transfer making up a talented class that adds depth to the Aggie lineup.
 
Gabriella Ilardi, Eastern Washington, Ripon, Calif.: Averaged a score of 74.7 over 10 tournaments played during the 2024-25 season at Eastern Washington, and she set an average score of 76.4 over nine tournaments during 2023-24. Ilardi earned 2025 Big Sky All-Conference honorable mention honors after finishing 11th at the 2025 Big Sky Championships.
 
The Ripon, California native graduated from Ripon High School in 2023 shooting a low of 67 and in 2021 she helped lead Ripon High School to the Sac Joaquin D5 Section Championship.
 
Claire Chang, International Virtual Learning Academy, Bellevue, Wash.: While at Issaquah High School (2022-23) Chang helped the team make it to the Washington State Championships in 2022 and 2023. In 2023 she Tied for first at the Washington High School State Championships and won titles in 2023 at the AJGA Jr. at Palouse Ridge and the WJGA District Championship.
 
In 2022 Chang earned King County First Team All-League honors and she shot the lowest 9-hole score in Issaquah history with a 31 (-5) in 2022. The incoming Aggie also tied the course record for one round at the 2023 IMG Academy Junior World Championships. Chang is a first-generation collegiate student athlete.
 
Michelle Ho, Dougherty Valley, San Ramon, Calif.: A three-time First Team East Bay All-League honoree Ho was also a two-time AJGA Champion (2021; 2022). She finished second at the 2025 AJGA Sacramento Junior Championship and third at the 2025 AJGA Junior at Copper Valley and has racked up eight top-three finishes at AJGA tournaments.
 
Ho helped Dougherty Valley win the East Bay League and the 2023 and 2024 North Coast Section Championships. She earned AP Scholar with Distinction honors and was named a 2024 Rolex Scholastic Junior All-America. Ho can also play the piano and violin.
