Brayden Fagbemi to Join Men's Basketball Program

DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis men's basketball program has signed guard Brayden Fagbemi, a 6-foot transfer from Central Arkansas with prior experience at Johns Hopkins University, head coach Jim Les announced Monday.

"Brayden impacts our ability to win, on and off the floor. He is a highly intelligent and skilled guard," Les said.

"As a pre-med major, he is an ideal fit for our culture, and as a ball-handling guard, he excels at creating for others as well as himself. He will also bring that Chicago toughness that we highly value in our program."

Fagbemi, a Naperville, Illinois, native and Benet Academy graduate, averaged 11.4 points, 4.7 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game as a sophomore at Central Arkansas in 2024-25. The point guard started 27 of 31 games for the Bears, posting a 1.9-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio (146 assists to 77 turnovers) and leading the team with 46 steals. His standout season included a 25-point, 8-assist game against North Alabama—where he shot 7-for-9 from 3-point range—and a career-high 10-assist outing against Austin Peay.

Before Central Arkansas, Fagbemi starred at Johns Hopkins as a freshman in 2023-24, earning D3hoops.com Region V Rookie of the Year and Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year honors. He averaged 13.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game, setting a program freshman record with 8 assists in his debut against Marymount (adding 19 points) while posting his career-high 30 points against Ursinus.

In high school, Fagbemi led Benet Academy to the Illinois state finals as a senior, earning all-state recognition, and played six years with the Illinois Attack AAU program.

Fagbemi joins the Aggies as a junior for the 2025-26 season.
