The short story: Despite securing the early doubles point, UC Davis men's tennis saw their eight-match win streak come to an end as they fell to UCSB 3-4. 

COURTSIDE 

• The Aggies took the early lead, grabbing the doubles point. 

• Senior Ryan Torres won his singles match in two sets. 

• Freshman Perry DiGiulio won his singles match in two sets. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Aggies opened the morning with doubles, where Lucas Bollinger and Kaveh Taheri finished first, falling to their Gaucho opponents. 

• Next to finish were Sam DeVries and Rithvik Katpelly, who took down their opponents, putting the Ags up one doubles match. 

• Last to finish in doubles were Ryan Torres and Ivan Savkin, who won their match after a tiebreaker, giving the Aggies the doubles point. 

• On to singles, where junior Bollinger fell to his opponent after two quick sets. 

• First to get a point in shingles was senior Torres, who took down his Gaucho opponent after two sets and a tiebreaker, making the score 2-1. 

• Next to finish was freshman Katpelly, who lost his match after three grueling sets. 

• Next to fall was freshman Taheri, who also took his match to three sets but couldn't come out with a win, making the overall score 2-3. 

• Perry DiGiulio was next to finish, winning his match after just two sets. 

• With the score tied at 3-3, it was all up to senior DeVries to clinch the match for the Aggies. DeVries was unfortunately not able to come out with a win after a grueling three-set match to decide the result.
