The short story: UC Davis women's tennis battled hard against Cal State Fullerton, securing the early doubles point, but despite their promising start, they ultimately fell short in singles play, losing 1-4.

• The Aggies took the early lead, grabbing the doubles point. 

• Fullerton came back to win four consecutive singles points. 

• Two Aggie matches were left unfinished. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Aggies opened up the morning with doubles, where Daisy Maunupau and Mika Ikemori finished first, taking down their opponents in a dominating match. 

• Next to finish was the pair of Claire Galerkin and Kaia Wolfe. This pair won their match, clinching the early doubles point for the Ags. 

• Last to finish in doubles was Solia Valentine and Polina Marakhtanova, who lost their match against their CSUF opponent. 

• Onto singles, the first to finish was graduate student Valentine, who fell to her opponent in two sets, making the score even at 1-1. 

• More Aggies would fall as Wolfe and Maunupau, who both fell in two sets. 

• Last to finish was sophomore Ikemori, who also lost her match to her CSUF opponent making the final score 1-4. 

• The matches of Maya Youssef and Polina Marakhtanova went unfinished since CSUF had already clinched the dual match win.
