The short story: UC Davis beach volleyball faced a tough challenge in their first match of the day, falling 0-5 to the No. 17-ranked Hawaii, but they quickly bounced back in the afternoon with a strong performance, defeating Cal State Bakersfield 4-1. 

THE RALLY

• Ranked at number 17, Hawai'i swept the Aggies in their first game of the day. 

• Against Cal State Bakersfield, Kylie Miller and Tabitha Mitchell finished first and won a decisive match against their opponents, giving the Aggies a 1-0 lead. 

• First to fall were Lindsay Heller and Kendal Steller, who fell in two sets. 

• Kimi Waller and Juliana Chapman finished next and defeated their Roadrunner opponents in just two sets. 

• Next to finish were the sophomore and junior duo of Alexandra Leal and Kate O'Steen. Leal and O'Steen took their match to three sets. They fought back from a losing set and came out on top 15-11 in the third set. 

• Last to finish were Sky Smolinski and Mia Olen, who also took their match to three sets, ultimately coming out on top, giving the Aggies a 4-1 win.
