The short story: UC Davis beach volleyball kicked off the day with an impressive 4-1 win over San Jose State, but faced a tough challenge in the afternoon, suffering a 5-0 loss to Cal Poly despite their best efforts. 

THE RALLY

• Against San Jose State, Juliana Chapman and Kimi Waller finished first and won a decisive match against their opponents giving the Aggies a 1-0 lead. 

• Sky Smolinski and Mia Olen finished next and defeated their SJSU opponents in just two sets. 

• Next to follow were Kylie Miller and Kendal Steller who took down their opponents putting the Aggies up 3-0. 

• The first to fall were Kirra Martin and Kaitlyn Smyth who fought to three sets but ultimately lost. 

• Last to finish were Tabitha Mitchell and Lindsay Heller who also took their game to three sets and came out on top making the final score 4-1. 

• Cal Poly swept the Aggies in their second match of the day.
