LEADING OFF
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first inning, the Aggies got things started fast thanks to a Buscemi leadoff single, followed by a Felice single
- Kilday came up with one out and doubled down the left field line to score Buscemi and Felice, getting her day started off hot making it 2-0 Aggies after the first inning
- Pacific did have an answer, scoring five runs on five hits in the bottom of the second to take a 5-2 lead
- The Aggies added one more in the fourth, but a four-run fifth from Pacific built out their lead to 9-3 heading into the sixth inning
- In the sixth the Aggies stormed back, loading the bases with two outs to set up a six run frame
- Baldwin's single to left knocked in an Aggie, and at the time made it 9-5 as two had come home in the frame
- Kilday then stepped up to the plate, and after working a 3-1 pitch, launched one just between the top of the left field wall and the foul pole to clear the bases and tie the game at 9-9
- In the seventh the Aggies retook the lead when Dethlefson, who had walked, stole second and reached third on a Keira Brady sacrifice bunt, scored on a wild pitch to make it 10-9
- But the Aggies could not hold the lead in the seventh, allowing a pair of Pacific runners on, who would come around to score on a walk-off double that finished off an 11-10 win for Pacific.
