The short story: UC Davis beach volleyball bounced right back from a season opening loss to Utah by fighting off and taking down Santa Clara in an exciting day to open UC Davis Beach Volleyball Courts.
 
THE RALLY

• Alexandra Leal and Kate O'Steen, playing the third flight, got the first Aggie victory for the 2025 season with a 25-23, 21-16 victory over Utah's Lauren Sayre and Maeve Griffin
• Against Santa Clara, the Aggies battled hard and thanks to wins from the pairings of Tabitha Mitchell/Lindsay Heller, Leal/O'Steen and Skye Smolinski/Mia Olen UC Davis locked up its first win of the season
• Mitchell and Heller battled with Santa Clara's pairing of Alex Urbina and Holland Jackson, controlling the action for an Aggie victory 21-10. 21-15 at the top flight.
• At the third flight, Leal and O'Steen had themselves a dual with Santa Clara's Noelle Niederman and Ciara Cantlen, going three sets before locking up a tightly contested third set for a 21-18, 17-21, 17-15 Aggie win
• In another three set matchup, Smolinski and Olen stormed back against Teagan Wilson and Sveva Munneke, 22-24, 21-18, 15-3, to finish a comeback win at the fourth flight
