The short story: UC Davis secured the series win over Gonzaga Sunday afternoon, as the pitching staff once again kept the Bulldogs off balance to the tune of no walks, and just one allowed run, while the offense was led by multi-hit efforts from
Korey Williams and
Nick Leehey.

FIRST PITCH
- Tyler Wood earned the win for the Aggies, going 5.1 innings, giving up just one run while striking out two Bulldogs
- Mason Lerma, Keenan Anzai, and Matt Barnes followed up Wood's effort with 2.2 combined innings of scoreless relief
- Lerma and Anzai each recorded a strikeout in relief
- Carter Delaney closed out the game for the second consecutive day, striking out one without allowing a hit
- Leehey finished the series strong, going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles
- Williams was the other multi-hit performer for UC Davis, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs
- Tyler Howard contributed to the Aggie offense, going 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk
- UC Davis took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third and never lost their advantage
- The Aggies outhit the Bulldogs at a 10-6 clip

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UC Davis began the scoring in the third inning when Williams drove in a pair with a single up the middle
- Williams' hit drove in Ryan Lee and Braydon Wooldridge, who had each walked earlier in the frame
- Gonzaga cut the deficit to one run in the fourth inning with a home run from Shupe that struck the foul pole, making it 2-1
- UC Davis responded in the bottom half of the fourth, extending their lead with two more runs off the bat of Lee, who drove in Mark Wolbert and Leehey with a single through the left side
- With the score at 4-1, the Aggies added an insurance run in the seventh after Howard smashed a triple to right-center and was followed up by Williams, who picked up his second hit of the game with a single to right field, giving the Aggies a 5-1 lead
- Gonzaga managed only one more hit in the final two frames, allowing UC Davis to take the opening weekend series for the second consecutive season
