LEADING OFF

- It was Grimes' first complete game of the season
- Kilday went 1-for-2 with a solo shot and one walk
- Marley Panziera led the Ags at the dish going 2-for-3
- Olivia McFarland provided more power for the Aggies, smacking a triple late in the game
- On the bases, Alyssa Dethlefson, Panziera and Mickey Buscemi all got a stolen base in the game
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Over the first two innings, Grimes set the tone, striking out the side in the second for a total of four strike outs
- In the third, Kilday got the Ags on the board, taking a 1-2 pitch into left field and over the wall for a no doubter to make it 1-0
- UC Davis added to its lead in the fourth when Buscemi walked and then stole second to get into scoring position. Dethlefson then smacked a two-out RBI to bring home Buscemi, making it 2-0
- Grimes then locked in to shut down Portland State in the next three frames, allowing just one hit and two base runners over those three innings to secure the Aggies 2-0 win to open the weekend
