The short story: Double-digit points from
Ryann Bennett and
Megan Norris led UC Davis women's basketball, but the team would fall 45-70 to Stanford on Thursday, Nov. 20.

OPENING TIP
- Bennett's 19 points came off five made three pointers on the night, tying her career-high set against UC San Diego in last year's regular season finale.
- She was also perfect from beyond the arc, going five-for-five on the night.
- Nya Epps tied Bennett for the team lead in rebounds with five.
- Norris was active on the defensive end with four blocks on the night. The senior is now up to 14 blocks on the season, five more than the second-leading blocker in The Big West.
- The Aggies shot over 90% from the free-throw line as a team for the second time this season, going 12-for-13 for a percentage of 92.3%.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- With defense leading the way for both teams in the first three minutes, Stanford broke the seal with a three ball before Tegan Young got the Ags on the board with a jumper.
- After getting fouled from beyond the arc, Avery Sussex sank all three free throws to tie the game at five halfway through the first period.
- Norris scored the final three points of the quarter for the Aggies, who finished the first down 8-15.
- Bennett got on the board two minutes into the second with her first trey of the night.
- Sophie Lentfer followed that up with a three of her own.
- Despite a team-leading five points in the quarter from Bennett, 20 points from the Cardinal gave them a 35-19 lead going into halftime.
- Back-to-back threes from Bennett opened the second half for Davis.
- With time expiring on the third quarter clock, her fourth trey of the night fell through, but the Aggies would face a 33-56 deficit going into the final period.
- Norris and Bennett led the way with five points each in quarter number four, with each player cashing from beyond the arc.
- Despite this, UC Davis would fall 45-70 to Stanford.
UP NEXT: UC Davis will now turn their sights towards the 65th edition of their Causeway Cup matchup against Sacramento State on Monday, Nov. 24. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. PT, and it will be streamed live on ESPN+ and KDVS 90.3.
