DAVIS, Calif. - On an early Sunday morning, the Marya Welch Tennis Center lit up with energy as UC Davis men's and women's tennis hosted their annual Pro-Am event. More than 100 community members, alumni, and friends of the program joined alongside 38 generous sponsors to make the day a memorable success.
In total, the event raised $40,000 to directly benefit both programs. The funds will support critical upgrades to the Marya Welch Tennis Center—including new windscreens, scoreboards, and nets—while also enhancing the student-athlete experience through team-building opportunities, travel support, and improved nutrition resources.
The day kicked off with player introductions, giving attendees the chance to meet the student-athletes representing the Aggies this season. From there, participants rotated through engaging stations that included a tennis clinic, doubles rounds, and interactive Q&A sessions with the teams. Competition heated up with prizes awarded to the top men's and women's finishers, while raffle prizes kept excitement high throughout the morning.
With strong community backing and record fundraising numbers, the Pro-Am once again showcased the strong support behind UC Davis tennis and set the stage for a promising season ahead.
