HOW IT HAPPENED
- UC Davis set the tone early with strong defensive organization, as Pieper made key saves in the 2nd and 15th minutes to deny UC Riverside's Finley Aghassi and Sarah Mahfoud
- The Aggies began generating offense midway through the half, with Lisette Gregoris forcing a save in the 32nd minute and McKayla Farrell narrowly missing just before halftime
- The breakthrough came in the 67th minute when Fontes flicked in a goal over the keeper on a pass from Redman to give UC Davis a 1-0 lead
- From there, the Aggies controlled possession and absorbed late pressure from the Highlanders, even after Brooklyn Tanon received a second yellow in the 87th minute
- UC Davis stayed composed defensively and closed out the win to end the 2025 campaign on a high note
