• The Aggies struck early as Redman converted a cross from Beth Munro-Morris at 2:47, giving UC Davis a 1-0 lead.
• Redman nearly doubled the advantage less than two minutes later, but Cal goalkeeper Audrey Post turned away her shot to keep it close.
• Cal found rhythm in the second quarter, hitting the crossbar on a dangerous shot by Liz Klompmaker before generating several penalty corners, all denied by a composed Aggie defense.
• Both sides battled for control in the midfield throughout the third quarter, with UC Davis blocking multiple shot attempts to preserve its lead.
• In the fourth quarter, California broke through when Klompmaker finished off a penalty corner sequence in the 56th minute, assisted by Zara Schmitz, to level the score at 1-1.
• With neither team able to find the game-winner in regulation, the match headed to overtime.
