DAVIS, Calif. – UC Davis athletics is excited to launch IGNITE 2.0, a refreshed strategic plan that strengthens our mission and prepares us for our transition to the Mountain West Conference.
IGNITE 2.0, much like its predecessor, consists of five pillars specifically designed to help the Aggies continue to win championships while developing holistic student-athletes who personify Aggie Pride.
"The decision to revise our strategic plan stemmed from two pivotal shifts in the national and institutional landscape of college athletics: the rapidly evolving Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) environment following the NCAA vs. House settlement, and UC Davis Athletics' historic move to the Mountain West Conference beginning in 2026," said Director of Athletics
Rocko DeLuca. "These developments required us to modernize and sharpen our approach while staying true to our mission and vision.
"Over the past two years, the original IGNITE plan has fueled meaningful success and momentum, and this updated version reflects the thoughtful input of our coaches and staff who actively engaged in refining its priorities. Their leadership and collaboration ensure that IGNITE 2.0 builds on our achievements and positions UC Davis Athletics for sustained growth and a continued positive trajectory."
