Men's Basketball Reveals 2024-25 Non-Conference Slate

DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis' 2024-25 non-conference schedule is complete and is highlighted by several exciting matchups, including the Acrisure Holiday Classic, a trip to Washington, and the always entertaining Causeway Classic against Sacramento State.

Among the slate of teams lined up for the Aggies within the non-conference portion, the Aggies will be tasked with facing matchups against opponents from some of the most respected basketball conferences in the country with one ACC team, one Big 10 team, and three WCC teams all scheduled for the season.

Head Coach Jim Les' Aggies will open the season on Tuesday, Nov. 5 against Washington in Seattle. The Aggies will then travel to Idaho on Thursday, Nov. 7 before returning home to face Menlo on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

When the Aggies face the Huskies to begin the season, it will be just the second-ever matchup between the two programs in each school's history.

Following the first three games of the season, UC Davis will turn their focus towards the Acrisure Holiday Classic, featuring matchups against Stanford, Grand Canyon, and Norfolk State. The Aggies will face Stanford on Sunday, Nov. 17 in Stanford, Calif., followed by a game against Grand Canyon on Wednesday, Nov. 20 in Phoenix, Ariz. They will then return home to host Norfolk State on Monday, Nov. 25 inside the University Credit Union Center.

This past season, Grand Canyon (30-5) advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament, while Norfolk State (24-11) experienced some postseason success of their own, winning the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.

In addition to participating in the Acrisure Holiday Classic, UC Davis will face several familiar opponents from 2023 on the road. The Aggies will travel to Oregon State on Saturday, Nov. 30, Sacramento State on Saturday, Dec. 14, and Pepperdine on Saturday, Dec. 21.

They will also host Idaho on Wednesday, Dec. 18, and Cal Maritime on Saturday, Dec. 28. The two games against Idaho mark the second consecutive season in which the Aggies will have a non-conference home-and-home series against a Big Sky opponent, following their matchups with Montana last year.

Following the Aggies trip to Corvallis, it is also worth noting that one week of Big West Conference play will begin this season on Thursday, Dec. 5, with non-conference games picking up that following week. Information regarding the Big West schedule will be announced by the conference at a later date.

The Aggies are coming off a spot in the 2024 Big West Championship game and a 20-13 record. Two starters are scheduled to return in addition to four other players that played at least 29 games this past season. Head coach Jim Les enters the year with 349 career wins, needing just five more to reach 200 wins in Davis. Les and the Aggies will also welcome a recruiting class that includes six newcomers who will look to supplement a returning core of players that is led by electric point guard and All-Big West Second Team selection TY Johnson.
