IRVINE, Calif. – The Big West Conference announced today, Aug. 15, the first two conference games set to be played over the weekend of Dec. 5-7 with UC Davis basketball slated to open against Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara.
 
The Aggie men will open at home, hosting Cal Poly on Dec. 5 in the first Big West game of the season at the University Credit Union Center, while the women will mirror the men with a game at Cal Poly.
 
On Dec. 7 the Aggie men will again host, welcoming UC Santa Barbara to Davis. While the women will remain on the road with a trip to the Thunderdome to wrap up their Big West opening weekend.
 
The Big West will continue to operate with a mirrored schedule, with the men and the women playing the same schools, just with one on the road and one at home.
 
The conference will take a break and return to non-conference play throughout month of December before returning to conference play to finish out the final 18 games. The Big West will release the rest of the conference schedule on a later date.
