DAVIS, Calif. – The NCAA has announced the NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate data for the 2022-23 academic year, with UC Davis setting the standard with an impressive four-year rate of 991, an uptick from the 2021-22 year and it places the Aggies above the national four-year average of 984.
"The latest APR report from the NCAA is a testament to the dedication our 668 student-athletes have shown in their academic pursuits," said Director of Athletics Rocko DeLuca. "We take great pride in supporting our Aggies' educational aspirations, and it is gratifying to see their hard work reflected in this year's APR results."
The Aggies finished the year up 16 points from the 2021-22 numbers, a great improvement across the board. It's the best rate UC Davis has posted since back-to-back years from 2018-20 of a 991 rate. The rate also places the Aggies among the nation's top-10 in terms of APR, as UC Davis continues to set the standard in the classroom.
Each academic year, every Division I sports team's APR is calculated using a simple and consistent formula. Scholarship student-athletes can earn 1 point for staying on course for a degree in their chosen major and 1 point for being retained (or graduating) at the end of each academic term. For schools that do not offer athletics scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked.
