DAVIS, Calif. – The 2023 Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Year and Third-Team All-American Lan Larison was named the top returning running back in the Big Sky Conference by HERO Sports as part of their Football Championship Series 2024 preview.
 
Larison, despite only playing in eight games due to injury, finished 2023 with 1,101 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns, placing him among the nation's best. He finished ranked 12th in the nation in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns and his 15 total touchdowns put him eighth in the country.
 
Those numbers earned him a spot as a 2023 Walter Payton Award Finalist and he earned FCS Football Central All-American First Team honors and Walter Camp Football Foundation All-American honors. Larison was also named All-Big Sky Conference first team following a season where he led the conference in all-purpose yards (1,299), finished second in the league in rushing yards and third in rushing touchdowns.
