The short story: Joey Wright collected four hits in his return to the lineup, leading an Aggie offense that broke out for nine runs to secure the series opening win over Hawai'i. UC Davis as a team had 16 hits, while steady pitching from
Bryan Green and the rest of the Aggie staff limited the Rainbow Warriors to just eight hits.
LEADING OFF
- Wright went 4-for-4 with three runs, an RBI and a double
- The Aggies out-hit Hawai'i 16-8
- Bryan Green dazzled, tossing 5.0 innings to go along with six strikeouts, allowing only three runs
- Junior Carter Delaney also left his mark on the mound, tossing two scoreless innings allowing only one hit with no walks, and three strikeouts

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hawai'i scored immediately in the first on a passed ball but the Aggies managed to respond with a Nick Leehey RBI single, scoring Wolbert from second base
- UC Davis continued their offensive momentum the next inning, with Alex Gouveia's RBI single bringing the score to 2-1 in favor of the Aggies
- The Hawai'i offense took control in the top of the third, scoring two runs to take a 3-2 lead highlighted by a Matthew Miura double
- However, the Aggies quickly regained the upper hand, scoring three runs in the fourth, including a two-run single by Wooldridge
- The Rainbow Warriors tied the game at five, but UC Davis surged ahead in the seventh inning with Ryan Lee's two-run single putting an emphasis on a four-run inning for UC Davis which would help finalize the 9-5 win for the Aggies

- Wright collected his second career game with four hits
- Wolbert extended his reached base streak to 12 games
