DAVIS, Calif. – UC Davis delivered a solid all-around performance in the series opener, downing George Washington 6-2 on Saturday afternoon at La Rue Field.
The Aggies (8-8) never trailed and cruised to victory behind
Kenedi Brown's quality start in the circle. The right hander surrendered five walks, but managed to minimize the damage, holding the visitors to just two runs over her five innings of work to earn her second win of the campaign.
Caroline Grimes did the rest for Davis' team, tossing two innings of scoreless ball while allowing just one hit.
Leah Polson made it back-to-back multi-hit games in her 2-for-3 display at the plate while extending her win streak to five games. The El Dorado Hills native scored a pair of runs, making some noise in the three spot for Davis' team.
Marley Panziera had a moment to remember in the fourth frame, blasting her first collegiate home run.
Sarah Nakahara racked up two RBI in the contest as the outfielder stays hot in her senior season.
