- UC Davis maintained this momentum at the start of the second half, extending their lead with a 7-0 run into the first media timeout
- The Aggies continued to build on their early success, expanding their lead to 60-48
- Sacramento State narrowed the margin making it just a five point game with a little under two minutes to go
- Despite a late comeback effort from the Hornets, UC Davis would go on to ice the game with a pair of free throws from DeBruhl to secure the 69-62 win
