HOW IT HAPPENED

The first quarter was scoreless with equal ball possession on both sides.

The Black Bears started the scoring in the second quarter with two goals in less than one minute of each other, one by senior back Poppy Lambert and the second by junior forward Kate Richardson.

The third quarter brought a penalty stroke in favor of Maine, resulting in Lambert's second goal in the 44th minute.

The Aggies decided to switch goalkeepers in the fourth quarter putting senior Sarah Lopez at goal for the remainder of the game.

UC Davis was awarded a penalty corner and sophomore forward Ella Franken scored a goal putting the Aggies on the leaderboard in the 52nd minute.

A green card for Maine player Bhreagh Kennedy led the Aggies to pull Lopez from the goal in favor of an extra field player hoping this would give them a late advantage, but the Black Bears eventually held them off.
