UC Davis Celebrates Academic Success in Fall Quarter

DAVIS, Calif. – UC Davis student-athletes continued to display their excellence in the classroom by recording a cumulative 3.23 GPA in the fall quarter. This matches the department's sixth-highest quarterly GPA since the ascension to the Division I era in 2007.
 
73 Aggies posted a perfect 4.00 GPA in the fall quarter, a number that represents 11.15% of the student-athlete population. UC Davis saw 250 student-athletes achieve a GPA of 3.50 or higher this fall, with a total of 435 going above the 3.00 threshold.
 
Women's Gymnastics led the way with the highest quarterly GPA in the department at 3.53, which is also the program's 3rd best mark in the Division I era.
 
With a fall GPA of 3.34, men's soccer achieved their second-highest mark in the Division I era while topping the list of men's programs at UC Davis.
 
Tying its highest team GPA in program history was field hockey, recording a 3.49 in the fall quarter. UC Davis lacrosse earned the program's fourth-highest GPA of the Division I era with a 3.42 and softball enjoyed a great fall in the classroom, posting a 3.47 to reach their fifth-highest mark in program history since joining Division I.
 
Men's cross country (3.29), men's golf (3.19), and men's track & field (3.24) all recorded some solid performances in the fall quarter, posting cumulative GPA's that ranked top-four in their respective program histories.
 
As of Fall quarter, current UC Davis student-athletes are enrolled in:

  • 22 majors in the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences 
  • 9 majors in the College of Biological Sciences 
  • 9 majors in the College of Engineering 
  • 33 majors in the College of Letters & Sciences 
  • 14 student-athletes are pursuing double majors
  • Six student-athletes in Graduate Studies


The six student-athletes currently competing while in graduate school at UC Davis are enrolled in:

  • M.S. program in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
  • M.S. program in Transportation Technology and Policy
  • PhD. program in Chemistry and Chemical Biology
  • Master of Business Administration in the School of Management
