ANCHORAGE, Alask. — UC Davis Women's Gymnastics has now secured its third win of the season. The Ags had their second meet against Alaska Anchorage this weekend and continued to improve their score from the first time around. The final team results proved UC Davis with a score of 195.300 and Alaska closed out the meet with a 191.050
The Aggies started their meet out on bars today building off their momentum from Friday's meet. Freshman,
Ayumi Oshiro, had the high score on bars today with a 9.825. We also saw a personal best from first year
Jadyn Wakita with a score of 9.800.
Amelia Moneymaker and
Ava Scafani followed closely behind with scores of 9.775 and 9.750 respectively.
Vault was a two-way tie for first place with a score of 9.800 from
Emma Otsu and
Megan Ray. Next on the leaderboard was Bakersfield native
Keanna Abraham securing a score of 9.725.
Their third event of the evening, floor, was concluded with a tie for the first place spot between Ray and Moneymaker both scoring a 9.850. Trailing right behind in third was
Anna Holtan with a 9.800 marking a season high for her so far on the event.
The Aggies closed out the meet on beam, securing the top 3 spots. Abraham and Oshiro finished first, both with a score of 9.875. Up next in third place was
Ava Scafani with a score of 9.800.
The Women's Gymnastics team will return home this upcoming Sunday, Jan. 28 where they will face Gustavus Adolphus College at the University Credit Union Center, starting at 2 p.m.
