Box Score DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis finished out regular season play with a loss to Long Beach State, 4-3, at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The result had no bearing on the Aggies' postseason situation as they had secured the seventh seed in the Big West with last Wednesday's win over UC Riverside. 

Before the match, Aggie seniors Kristina Evloeva, Lauren Ko and Yana Gurevich were recognized for their excellent careers and contributions to the program. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC Davis (8-13, 3-6 Big West) got back on track in doubles competition, picking up wins on courts one and two to register the first point of the match. Sacramento State ended the Aggies' seven-match doubles winning streak on Friday. 

The court one win improves Gurevich and Arianna Stavropoulos' record to 13-2 as a duo.

The Beach (10-9, 6-3 Big West) won three of the first four singles matches to build a 3-2 lead. Stavropoulos took the match on court two in straight sets.

Gurevich knotted the match with a three set victory, but Long Beach's Mathilde Tranberg defeated Kaia Wolfe 7-5 in a third set to finalize the result. 

UP NEXT
The Big West conference tournament is all that remains on the schedule for UC Davis. The Aggies, locked into the seventh seed, will play the number two seed at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 27. The tournament will be held at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego from April 26-29.
