Box Score DAVIS, Calif. - A little rain was no problem for the UC Davis women's tennis team this Saturday afternoon at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. Bad weather abbreviated the contest and forced a late start.
The Aggies dominated in singles play, winning the first four points of the day to shut out the visiting Montana State Bobcats, 4-0, and move to 5-7 on the season.
Arianna Stavropoulos and
Carly Schwartzberg handled their opponents in straight sets, only conceding four games between them.
Yana Gurevich and
Michelle Zell earned the Aggies their other two points on the day. Gurevich split the first two sets before finishing the match off with a 6-2 third set. Zell closed her match down in two sets after pulling away 7-1 in a second set tiebreaker.
Kaia Wolfe was up one set and leading on the second and
Olive Maunupau was tied when action was halted following the Aggie victory.
The Aggies will finish out the homestand Friday Mar. 10 at noon against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors.
