SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The UC Davis beach volleyball squad, after starting 4-0 on the young season, took their first road trip of the year to Santa Cruz Beach for the Santa Clara Tournament. Retaining the same line up throughout the event, the Aggies swept the tournament to go 3-0 on the day and won 13 total sets. All enroute to their best start in program history at 7-0. 

To start the day, the Aggies were pitted against the University of San Francisco at 11 a.m. For the third time this season UCD swept the Dons five sets to zero. Only the fourth flight was brought to a tiebreaker as the Aggies advanced their record to 5-0.

The second match of the day had UC Davis against Santa Clara University at 2:30 p.m. The Aggies were able to tame the Broncos 4-1. After a competitive tie-breaker loss in the first game, Davis' first of the day. UCD secured victories in four straight sets to take down the Broncos and advance to 6-0 on the season.

For the third and final match, UCD played against Saint Mary's College at 4:30 p.m. The Aggies captured four straight sets to beat the Gaels, before their second set loss in the fifth flight. The Ags victory tied overall matches against Saint Mary's at 2-2 and secured the tournament sweep.
