BERKELEY, Calif. – The UC Davis gymnastics team eclipsed the 196-point mark for the second straight week on the road, posting a 196.425, to finish third in a quad meet at Cal on Sunday.
The host Golden Bears won the meet with a 198.275 and Pac-12 foe Arizona followed with a 196.525. The Aggies took down Causeway rival Sacramento State once again as the Hornets posted a score of 194.875.
VAULT
The Aggies scored a 49.225 on vault and boasted the event winner as
Megan Ray scored a 9.925. The 9.925 equaled the school record the
Keanna Abraham set earlier in the season.
Emma Otsu followed in third with a 9.875 and Abraham was fifth with a 9.850.
BARS
UCD posted a 48.575 on the uneven bars. Newcomer
Amelia Moneymaker was the top finisher for the Aggies with a score of 9.775 to place 11
th overall.
BEAM
The Ags recorded their second-highest score of the meet on beam with a 49.275. Otsu tied for seventh with a 9.90 and
Rachel Schuelke finished in 10
th with a 9.875.
FLOOR
The Aggies tallied their highest score of the meet on floor with a 49.350. Ray and Abraham tied for fourth with identical scores of 9.90. Moneymaker and
Emily Pires tied for eighth at 9.850.
UC Davis will head to Colorado Springs for the MPSF Championships on Saturday, March 18.
