STANFORD, Calif. -- Senior Alana Vawter, junior Regan Krause and freshman NiJaree Canady combined to throw a shutout on Wednesday as the No. 14 Stanford Cardinal blanked the UC Davis Aggies, 8-0.

Kenedi Brown (4-2) started and took the loss in the circle for UC Davis (6-4) after allowing two earned runs on four hits in three innings.

At the plate, the Aggies were paced by Leah Polson, who went 1-for-3 on the day.

UC Davis will host the Capital Classic this weekend. The first of five games for the Aggies will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
