DAVIS, Calif. – UC Davis sophomore
Keanna Abraham broke two school records on Sunday as the Aggies fell to San Jose State, 196.300 – 195.450, at the University Credit Union Center.
Abraham opened the meet with a 9.925 on vault, breaking the old mark of 9.90. She then capped off the afternoon with a 9.975 on floor, receiving a perfect 10 from one judge. The old record was 9.95.
VAULT
Abraham used her school record score to win the event as
Emma Otsu and
Megan Ray followed in second with identical scores of 9.850. The Aggies outdistanced the Spartans in the event, 49.125 – 49.000.
BARS
The two teams were even on the bars with scores of 48.950. Otsu shared the event victory with Emma Miline of SJSU with a score of 9.850.
Isabella Fitz-Gerald was third with a score of 9.80.
BEAM
The Ags struggled on beam after starting the meet strong, scoring a 47.850.
Ava Scafani and
Kaitlyn Lyle shared runner-up honors with scores of 9.850.
FLOOR
UC Davis rallied back into the meet with a school-record score of 49.525 on floor. Abraham set the tone with her school-record performance and was followed by a 9.925 from
Megan Ray and a 9.90 from newcomer
Amelia Moneymaker to secure the event sweep.
The Aggies will wrap up their homestand next Sunday as they take on Causeway Cup rival Sacramento State at the University Credit Union Center at 1 p.m.
