DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis beach volleyball team swept visiting San Francisco, 5-0, in both of its matches to start the 2023 season on Saturday. The Aggies started the day with an exhibition match against Monterey Peninsula College.

The Aggies won in straight sets in nine of the 10 matches played at the UC Davis Beach Volleyball Courts. UCD used the same lineup in both contests as the Ags won 17 of the 20 sets by five or more. The pair of 5-0 victories marks the second straight season the Aggies have started 2-0 with sweeps over the Dons.

UC Davis will continue its homestand on Wednesday as the Aggies welcome Pacific and Causeway rival Sacramento State. The first match will begin at 2 p.m. on the UC Davis Beach Volleyball Courts.
