GAME 2 | UC Davis 4, Santa Clara 0
Davis, Calif. -Â Sophomore Bryan Green and freshman Alejandro Huezo combined to toss a shutout on Saturday as the UC Davis Aggies blanked the Santa Clara Broncos 4-0.
Green (2-0) started and picked up the win for UC Davis (3-3), going six shutout innings while giving up three hits, walking three, and striking out 11. Huezo was dealing out of the bullpen as well, going three shutout innings, allowing one hit, walking one and striking out three.
In the batter's box, the Aggies were led by junior Jack Gallagher, who went 1-for-4 on the day with a home run and two RBI. Junior Damian Stone put together a standout day at the dish as well, going 1-for-2 with a triple and a walk. Freshman Joey Wright also chipped in for UC Davis, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Aggies took the lead in the first, after UC Davis got an RBI single from Wright, scoring Stone from third base.
The Aggies then tacked on runs in the second and fourth innings, with their biggest output coming in the second when they scored two times. Those two runs came across on Gallagher's two-run homer to left.
