Davis, Calif. — UC Davis Men's Soccer standout Max Glasser has signed a professional contract with Monterey Bay F.C. It was announced by the club last week.
A native of Novato, California, Glasser was a two-sport star for the Aggies, also competing in Track & Field. A busy man during his time as an Aggie, Glasser also if fresh off of earning his degree in Chemical Engineering.
Signing a one-year contract with Monterey Bay F.C. the club will be getting the services of a two-time All Big West Second Team Member for depth at fullback. A consistent cog in the success of Coach Dwayne Shaffer's teams of recent, Glasser had a career year in 2022, with the highlight of the season being the opening goal against Sacramento State in the season finale that would help clinch a playoff berth for UC Davis.
In 2022, Glasser led UC Davis in assists with four last year and was tied for the lead in points with eight. He was also one of the most efficient players in all of college soccer last year. During a span from Oct. 20-27, Glasser posted an xA (expected assist rate) of 1.54 on passes, which qualified him for second among all Division 1 soccer members during this time.
In his career with the Aggies, Glasser drew starts in 56 of his 71 games played and started all but one game from 2019-22. Glasser recorded 10 assists and three goals throughout four years of action, while being a disruptor for opposing teams at fullback. In addition to being a two-time All Big West Second Team Member, Glasser earned recognition as a Big West Honorable Mention in 2019 and was a two-time Big West Academic All Conference Team Member.
Monterey Bay F.C. is in preparation for the 2023 USL Championship season and are coming off a 2022 season that saw the club record a record of 12-17-4.
