DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis gymnastics team sent off its seniors in spectacular fashion on Sunday. The Aggies posted the second-highest score in MPSF and program history with a 196.750 against Causeway rival Sacramento State in their final home meet of the season on Senior Day.
The 196.750 was just off the school-record mark of 196.900 set in 2015. For the second straight meet the Ags equaled the school record on floor with a 49.525.
VAULT
UC Davis posted a 49.050 in the first event of the meet. The Aggies were led by reigning MPSF Specialist of the Week
Keanna Abraham's event-winning score of 9.925.
Emma Otsu and
Megan Ray tied for third with scores of 9.825.
BARS
On bars, the Aggies recorded its second-best score of the meet with a 49.200. UC Davis claimed the top-four spots as
Marisa Laird won the event with a 9.875.
Amelia Moneymaker, Otsu and
Isabella Fitz-Gerald all tied for second with a 9.850.
BEAM
UCD rebounded this week on beam with a 48.975. Senior
Rachel Schuelke won the event in her final meet in the University Credit Union Center with a 9.875.
Ava Scafani and
Kaitlyn Lyle tied for runner-up honors with a 9.80.
FLOOR
For the second-straight meet, the Ags boasted a school-record floor score of 49.525. Moneymaker and Abraham tied for the top spot in the event with scores of 9.925.
Bella Trejo and Ray followed in third with a 9.90, marking a career-best for Trejo.
UC Davis will head to Colorado Springs for a tri-meet with Air Force and Denver. The meet is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 17, and will begin at 5 p.m.
