MORAGA, Calif. — Daisy Maunupau ran the table in the singles White Bracket, while Carly Schwartzberg and Michelle Zell pulled off four straight doubles wins to take the Red Bracket crown at the 2023 Saint Mary's Invitational in Moraga this weekend. The third and final Fall tournament, the Aggies now turn their attention to preparing for the start of main season competition in January.

The tournament was divided into five brackets, two doubles and three singles. The Aggies started strong across the board, with UC Davis picking up wins in 11 of their 13 first round matchups. 

Daisy and Olive Maunupau were the only Aggies to win their next singles match and advance to the third round. Daisy defeated the University of the Pacific's Zara Fung on Saturday and Sacramento State's Grace McSkimming to win the White Bracket. 

In doubles, the Maunupau sisters defeated Cal's Lan Mi and Tiziana Marie Schomburg to reach the semifinals. Carly Schwartzberg and Michelle Zell reached the Red Bracket semifinal with a win over Grace McSkimming and Weronika Ejsmont then finished their undefeated weekend against San Jose State's Adriana Casado Jimenez & Duru Durgu in the final.

In total, each Aggie won at least two matches and the women's tennis team finished the weekend having won 21 matches in total.

UC Davis begins its season on Jan. 13 at Arizona State.
