Box Score BEAVERTON, Ore. – The UC Davis women's tennis team came out on the wrong end of a tight match to open the 2023 season as the Aggies fell 4-3 to Portland State on Saturday.

The Aggies furiously tried to make up for dropping the doubles point as they got singles victories from Yana Gurevich, Arianna Stavropoulos, and newcomer Kaia Wolfe, but could not secure the final point.

Gurevich has continued her strong senior campaign as she won on the No. 1 court, 6-3, 6-2. On court No. 2, Stavropoulos downed Nika Beukers, 6-3, 6-3. Wolfe, in her 2023 dual debut, took care of Emily Rees, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.

The Aggies will take on the University of Portland tomorrow at 10 a.m.
