DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis men's tennis team opens its fall season at the Wolf Pack Invitational on Friday. On top of the team action in Reno, senior Andrei Volgin will head to the qualifying portion of the Battle of the Bay at USF.

The Aggies are coming off a 15-14 mark in the spring 2022 season and return a veteran squad. Three all-conference honorees will suit up for UC Davis this season, including reigning Big West Freshman of the Year Ryan Torres. Also returning is first-team selection Andrei Volgin and second-team doubles honoree Mitchell Davis.

UC Davis was led by the 21-5 singles mark by Torres while Volgin added 11 wins and Davis and Andras Necz recorded 10 singles victories apiece.

The Ags welcome three newcomers to the roster, including Portland State transfer Sam De Vries. De Vries, who led the Vikings in singles victories as a freshman last season is joined by Cyprus native Constantinos Djakouris and Vintage High School standout Lucas Bollinger.

The Aggies will return to the courts at home when they host the Aggie Pro-Am on Sunday, Sept. 25.
