QUICK HITTERS
• AGGIES END 2022 SEASON AT HOME
UC Davis return home to finish out the 2022 season against LBSU. Saturday's season finale will serve as senior day with
Kyler Arenado,
Raul Sandoval, Nate Lemos, and JD Mico being honored.
• UC DAVIS VS. LONG BEACH STATE
As has been customary during the 2022 season, the Beach fall into a category of team making a return two Davis after two years away due to the shortened 2020 season.
• LAST TIME OUT
The Aggies were held in check by Cal Poly last weekend in San Luis Obispo.
Jonah Henrickson was responsible for all of UC Davis' runs in the series, hitting a two-run homer on Sunday and scoring on a sac fly in the ninth of that game.
2022 SENIORS
•
Kyler Arenado
- Arenado is the elder statesman on the 2022 squad, having been at UC Davis since 2018.
- Arenado began the season playing primarily at third but has been the everyday shortstop since May 7 in addition to making relief appearances on the mound.
- in 6 2/3 innings, he's allowed three earned runs.
- He also owns a near-career best .953 fielding percentage, exceeded only by a .967 mark in 2019 which was set in five fewer games than the 37 Arenado has played this season.
•
Raul Sandoval
- Sandoval is in his first season at UC Davis and has been responsible for his share of highlights in addition to having perhaps the best outfield range on the team.
- He had two of UC Davis three RBI in the 11th inning of a win over Pacific and a game-tying home run in the ninth on May 17 at San Francisco.
- Seven multi-hit games on the season.
•
Nate Lemos
- Some of Lemos' best outings have come in recent weeks as he concludes his first season on the team.
- He had four swings and misses while making the longest appearance of his career, a three-inning start at San Francisco on May 17.
- He's allowed no earned runs in eight appearances.
• JD Mico
- Mico joined UC Davis as a transfer from Cosumnes River College prior to the 2020 season and has elevated himself into becoming the Aggies' everyday
second baseman in 2022.
- He has career-highs across nearly ever major offensive category this season and has committed just three errors over 34 games played for a .980 fielding
percentage.
STARTERS ONCE AGAIN
• After opting to use openers early in the season to put UC Davis' starters in position to pitch during the later innings, the Aggies will use traditional starters for at
least two games this weekend.
Nate Freeman will start Thursday while
Bryan Green starts Friday.
