San Luis Obispo, Calif. - UC Davis got off to a quick start but fell 11-0 to Cal Poly to open a three-game series on Friday.
J.D. Mico opened the game with a lead off double and
Mark Wolbert walked to start the night but the Aggies weren't able to cash in.
The Aggies (6-30, 5-20) had seven baserunners in the first six innings and had two runners on four times on the night.
Mico went 2-5,
James Williams III was on base four times, going 2-3 with two walks. Williams III is now 6-8 over this last three games.
Nick Leehey went 2-4 with a double, extending his hitting streak to five games and
Jonah Henrickson and
Raul Sandoval had a hit each.
Despite getting on base early, the Aggies fell behind 4-0 after the first inning and Cal Poly added one run in the second, third and fourth innings before pulling away late.
The series continues Saturday at Baggett Stadium at 1 p.m. before wrapping up on Sunday with another 1 p.m. start.
