Irvine, Calif. - The Aggies battled back and forth in Irvine on Saturday but fell 8-13 to the UC Irvine Anteaters to close out their final road trip of the 2022 season.
UC Davis was led by
Sam Yoo's career-best three goal performance with
Alyssa Lengtat scoring twice and adding an assist.
Emily Aikema and Noelle Wijnebelt scored a goal apiece while
Grace Pelkey scored once and added two assists.
Lengtat also had two steals and a drawn exclusion for UC Davis on Sunday.
The Aggies opened scoring on Lengtat's goal 53 seconds into the game and alternated the next two scores by Aikema and Pelkey with UC Irvine to head into the final minute of the first quarter tied at three. The Anteaters scored at the end of the period to go up 3-4 and again to open the second. After Wijnebelt scored with 7:01 left in the second quarter, UC Irvine went on a 5-1 run that extended into the third quarter to lead 10-5.
UC Davis will close out the regular season at home on April 16, hosting UC Santa Barbara ahead of the Big West Conference Tournament in Hawai'i.
