DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis gymnastics squad tallied a 196.050 to finish second at the MPSF Championship, held Saturday at the University Credit Union Center. San Jose State used a meet-record 196.425 to claim the title.

The championship concluded a historic season for the Aggies as they posted four scores north of 196. Senior Kyla Kessler was recognized for her MPSF Gymnast of the Year award, along with all the conference accolades the Aggies earned earlier in the week.

UC Davis equaled their second-best score on the floor with a 49.350 as freshman Megan Ray tied for the event title with a career-tying best score of 9.925. Kessler capped off her spectacular senior season with a 9.90 in the day's final event to place third. Kessler also finished third on the beam with a 9.875 and was third in the all-around with a 39.225.

Emma Otsu also placed third in the all-around with a 39.225, finishing as the runner-up on the bars with a 9.825. On the vault, freshman Keanna Abraham started off the meet as the runner-up on the vault with a 9.825.
