DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis gymnastics team recorded a season-high score of 195.675 but fell to Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foe San Jose State, Sunday afternoon from the University Credit Union Center. The Spartans used a school-record score of 196.550 to secure the mid-season conference clash.
The season-high score of 195.675 marked the second straight meet that the Aggies had eclipsed the 195-mark. The score was their best since a 195.850 in a tri-meet on Feb. 21, 2020.
UC Davis finished off the meet in impressive fashion, showcasing a 49.325 on the floor. That score marks the highest for the Aggies in the event since 2017 and is eighth all-time in the school record book.
Freshman
Megan Ray used a personal-best 9.925 to win the event. The newcomer's score of 9.925 is the highest individual score in the event since 2019.
The Aggies also posted a season-high 48.675 on the bars as freshman
Ava Scafani placed third with a personal-best 9.825.
UC Davis will make the short trek east on the Causeway to face Sacramento State on Friday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.
