Davis, Calif. — UC Davis baseball's schedule for the 2023 season is officially set, as announced by second-year Head Coach, Tommy Nicholson in accordance with the Big West. The Aggies' 83rd season of competition on the diamond opens up with a four-game home series against Utah Valley spanning from Friday, Feb. 17 to Sunday, Feb. 19.
After competing in just 41 games this past season, UC Davis' 2023 slate is composed of 57 games and 26 home contests at Dobbins Stadium. This is the 38th season the Aggies will be competing at Phil Swimley Field at Dobbins Stadium.
The 2023 schedule features 21 different teams; highlighted by an always competitive Big West Schedule; and six games against two different 2022 NCAA Tournament teams, UCLA and fellow conference member, UC Santa Barbara.
UC Davis will be playing three different Power-5 schools as part of the 2023 schedule with Pac-12 schools, Cal Berkeley, UCLA and Arizona State all listed as opponents.
Competing in the Big West for the 16th season, UC Davis will open up conference play when they host CSUN at Dobbins Stadium from March 17-19 on Big West Opening Weekend, followed by visits from CSU Fullerton (March 24-26), UC Riverside (April 21-23), Cal Poly (May 5-7) and UC Irvine (May 19-21). On the road this year, the Aggies will travel to CSU Bakersfield (March 31-April 2), UC San Diego (April 6-8), UC Santa Barbara (April 28-30), Hawai'i (May 11-12, 14), and Long Beach State (May 25-27).
Opening up the season with non-conference Utah Valley, the Wolverines account for just one of the 11 non-conference opponents Davis has lined up for the 2023 year. Santa Clara (February 24-26, March 14) and Utah Valley represent the only two weekend sets against non-conference opponents at home for UC Davis. The Aggies also have three non-conference series on the road as they travel to Seattle (March 3-5), Arizona State (March 10-12) and UCLA (April 14-16).
Other 2023 non-conference opponents are as follows with home dates listed in bold: Cal Berkeley (Feb. 28), Sacramento State (March 7, April 11, May 9), LMU (March 27), St. Mary's (April 4, April 18), University of the Pacific (April 25, May 2), and University of San Francisco (May 16).
