DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis women's soccer team (8-5-4, 5-2-2) reeled off its fourth straight victory, this time, downing UC Riverside (2-8-7, 0-6-3) on Senior Day, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon from Aggie Soccer Field.
The Highlanders struck first in the ninth minute, but the Aggies didn't flinch, scoring three unanswered goals to secure the victory in their last regular season match on their home field.
One of the student-athletes recognized before kickoff,
Leslie Fregoso, netted the equalizer in the 15
th minute, hammering home the setup from redshirt freshman Sarah Caravan.
Junior
Lindsey Porter found the back of the net for the second straight match, this time recording the game-winner on an
Alana Curtis pass for her third goal of the season.
Sophomore
Chandler Connors handed the Aggies all the breathing room they would need in the 82
nd minute, drilling the crossbar with pace and caroming in for her first career goal.
Caeley Goldstein earned the victory, making three saves on the afternoon. The Aggies outshot the Highlanders, 17-9 as Fregoso paced the Aggies with five shots, putting four on frame.
UC Davis will wrap up the regular season on the road at Long Beach State on Thursday, Oct. 27.
