BERKELEY, Calif. -- UC Davis wrapped up its first weekend of action for 2021-22 with the three-day Cal Fall Invitational, held at Hellman Tennis Complex from September 24-26. 

Redshirt freshman Carly Schwartzberg arguably enjoyed the strongest overall weekend, claiming her first-round match over Pacific's Megan Carmichael in the Gold singles draw before falling, 7-5, 7-6 (6) to USF's Courtney Caragh in the round of 16. Schwartzberg also won a double-bagel match against Tsveti Yotova of Sacramento State in the Open singles matches, and teamed with Kristina Evloeva through the White doubles semifinals.

Freshman Maddi Page won the consolation final of the White singles bracket after her initial loss to USF's Azaaria Hayes. She beat Maile Brilhante of Pacific and Kacey Feng of Santa Clara in straight sets.
