DAVIS, Calif. – Slated to open during the summer of 2022, the Edwards Family Athletics Center reached a construction milestone when the Hunt Construction team, and distinguished guests, held a topping out ceremony for the comprehensive academic, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, and team facility when the final structural beam was set.

The final beam, which measured 10 feet in length, was placed in the northeast corner of the facility, which will house the 10,000-square-foot Sallaberry Strength and Conditioning Center.

Once the framework of the EFAC was completed, Chancellor Gary S. May thanked the construction crew for their hard work in turning this transformation capital investment, unlike any in UC Davis Athletics' history, into reality.

The Edwards Family Athletics Center, which broke ground on June 24, 2020, is a 52,000-square-foot facility that will benefit UC Davis student-athletes from all 25 Division I teams for success in competition and the classroom.

Featured throughout this facility is a new weight room that is nearly four times the size compared to the current facility at Toomey Field, an expanded sports medicine treatment area, hydrotherapy pools, classrooms, offices for coaches and Aggie EVO staff, academic resources, a grass practice field, and an auditorium that will seat 140 individuals and is available or student-athletes, coaches and UC Davis students to organize large gatherings.

UC Davis Health will operate an outpatient sports medicine clinic, fulfilling a goal of expanding its footprint to campus and providing world-class medical care to the community.

Naming opportunities are available within the Edwards Family Athletics Center at a variety of levels, visit EdwardsAthleticsCenter.com or contact Rob Norris at (530) 752-8683 for additional information regarding how you can directly support over 700 student-athletes who represent the fifth-ranked public school in the country.
