NEWS & NOTABLES: For the first time in the history of the series, the Causeway rivalry between UC Davis and Sacramento State will take the stage at the Golden 1 Center in Downtown Sacramento, tipping off in their annual rivalry contest at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in the first half of a doubleheader featuring both school's men's teams. The Aggies then return to the friendly confines of the University Credit Union Center – where they have won 15 of their last 17 home contests – on the Friday after Thanksgiving, welcoming Weber State for a 12:30 tip-off. UC Davis is looking to snap a two-game slide early in the season after falling at San Francisco in their only game last week. Second-year sophomore Evanne Turner, who has been on fire from beyond the arc to start 2021-22, leads the team in scoring after three games at 11.3 ppg, while fifth-year senior Cierra Hall is nearly averaging a double-double at 10.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg. Senior Sage Stobbart is also one of the top rebounders in the league in the early going, averaging 9.7 rebounds per contest.

NEWS & NOTABLES: One of a record five Big Sky Conference schools to have their names called on "Selection Sunday," the UC Davis football team is in the FCS Playoffs for the second time in the history of the program – both under Head Coach Dan Hawkins – slated to travel to Brookings, S.D., to take on South Dakota State on Saturday at Noon. The contest will be streamed live on ESPN+ or you can listen in locally on Sports 1140 KHTK. The Aggies are in the postseason for the first time since 2018, when they defeated Northern Iowa, 23-16, at home before falling at conference rival Eastern Washington. Overall, it is the 21st all-time appearance in the postseason for the program across all-divisions. Both teams enter the contest at 8-3 overall, with the winner scheduled to face No. 4 national seed Sacramento State in the second round on Dec. 4 in Sacramento. The Jackrabbits lead the all-time series with the Aggies, 5-2, but the two teams haven't met since the 2012 season, a 12-8 victory for SDSU on its home field. South Dakota State has won the last four meetings – all decided by seven points or fewer -- with UC Davis' last win in the series coming in 2004 by the score of 52-0. The Jackrabbits have won three of the four meetings in Brookings, with the Aggies' only victory coming in 1998 by the score of 30-13.
